The Vitamin C Juice

Updated: Aug 9, 2019

Call me crazy but after a long day at work, juicing relaxes me. I love creating new juices with whatever fruit and veggies I have; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. This one is definitely a winner! It’s hydrating, sweet and a little spicy. I’d recommend it on a hot summer day although it also works its magic on a cold and rainy winter morning.

It’s a Vitamin C powerhouse!  All its ingredients are source of vitamin C: lemon, carrots, celery, fennel, apple, pear, and ginger! You might want to consider taking this at least once a week to help you strengthen your immune system.

  • Carrots, 2

  • Celery, one stalk

  • Pear, one

  • Golden Delicious Apple, 1

  • Lemon, 1

  • Fennel, 2-3 cm of the bulb (check out the picture)

  • Ginger, a big chunk (depending on how spicy you want it)

Instructions

It’s a no-brainer. In your juicer, start with the pear and finish off with the apple to ensure maximum juice extraction. Tadaaaa! If you want to make it a little thicker, blend the juice with two or three ice cubes.

What’s good in the Better Carrot Juice?

Carrots are have high levels of beta-carotene and dietary fibre. They are also a good source of antioxidants;  they are rich in vitamin A, C, K, and B8, as well as potassium, iron, copper, and manganese*.

As said earlier on, Fennel is an excellent source of vitamin C as well. It’s also a very good source of dietary fibre, phosphorus, potassium and manganese, and a good source of calcium, iron and magnesium.*

Pears are a very good source of dietary fibre and a good source of copper, vitamin C and vitamin K. Apples are also a good source of vitamine C and fibre. Last but not least, ginger is a natural antibiotics. Jackpot!!
