Yoga with Elise
Yoga classes are suitable to all levels.
Yoga Haṭha Flow is a modern form of traditional Hatha Yoga. It is an energizing practice, where the postures (asanas) are practiced both in a static way and in more dynamic sequences, to the rhythm of the breath. It is a fluid and flowing practice that strengthens the body and moves the energy. Hatha Flow Yoga is a gentle and invigorating practice, both relaxing and strengthening, respectful of the body and the level of each person.
The practice of yoga invites us to let ourselves be guided by our breath to energize static postures, or to move fluidly from one posture to another while being aware of each movement, until we manage to free ourselves from the mind.
Yin Yoga can be summarised in two words: relaxation and letting go. It is a very gentle form of yoga with slow, deep breathing, which uses the classic yoga postures but with a slightly different approach.
It is often referred to as "meditation in motion" because its practice is very gentle and slow and aims to calm the body and quiet the mind. Yin Yoga provides flexibility, suppleness and works to improve the overall posture of the body. Also, in Yin Yoga there is an important focus on the mind and overall relaxation. The main benefits are the release of physical and mental tensions, awareness of sensations and a feeling of relaxation and grounding.
Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness.
Yoga Nidra takes us effortlessly into a state of harmonious, restful being. From here, we can be healed, restored and awakened to our deepest, all-knowing, all-welcoming self. It’s a sublime practice, gaining popularity the world over, and ongoing research continues to prove its effectiveness.
Pranayama refers to breathing exercises which clear the physical and emotional obstacles in our body to free the breath and so the flow of prana - life energy. Regular and sustained practice of Pranayama can supercharge your whole body!
The goal of pranayama is to connect your body and mind. It also supplies your body with oxygen while removing toxins. This is meant to provide healing physiological benefits.
You'll discover several of these breathing techniques during the weekend.
For now there are only 15-18 spots available. If the Covid-situation allows, more people will be able to register closer to the date.
