Juice Detox: Day Four (1pm and 4pm)
You gotta love mint! This Minty Sunshine is refreshing and yet a little spicy!
Ingredients
Oranges, 2
Carrots, 3
Raw Ginger, 1-2 cm
Fresh Mint, 4 springs
Instructions
Peel the orange; again, make sure you leave the white pith on as most of the nutrients are in there (see picture below).
Juice all the ingredients together. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
The health benefits of the Minty Sunshine
Most people cut the oranges in half and then simply push on a citrus press – which is already better than orange juice in a carton, true. However, when you do that, you miss many of the nutrients as a large amount are in the white pith just beneath the skin. Using a juicer to make orange juice instead of a citrus press brings it to another level!
Then, carrot juice is famous for it vitamin A, betacarotene, and it’s also a great source of vitamins B, C, E and K as well as many minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and phosphors.
Ginger is an antiviral, antibacterial, antihistamine and a super decongestant.
