Yoga with Elise
A yoga class described as ‘Hatha’ will typically involve a set of physical postures, the asanas, breathing exercices (pranayama) and mediation. Hatha Yoga is defined as movement that develops strength, flexibility, bodily relaxation, and mental concentration.
The asanas are typically practised more slowly and with more static posture holds than a Vinyasa flow or Ashtanga class, and then can be modified to make them as easy or as challenging as is suitable for you - your unique body and individual requirements.
Yoga is for everybody – all ages, shapes and sizes, and ability levels.
It can increase flexibility, strengthen muscles and improve posture. Yoga can also bring balance to your body and mind, improve digestion and sleep, and help with your general sense of wellbeing. Hatha yoga can also help you lower your stress levels.
Hatha classes provide an opportunity to stretch, unwind, and release tension, providing a good counterpoint to both busy lifestyles and cardio workouts.
Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness.
Yoga Nidra takes us effortlessly into a state of harmonious, restful being. From here, we can be healed, restored and awakened to our deepest, all-knowing, all-welcoming self. It’s a sublime practice, gaining popularity the world over, and ongoing research continues to prove its effectiveness.
Pranayama refers to breathing exercises which clear the physical and emotional obstacles in our body to free the breath and so the flow of prana - life energy. Regular and sustained practice of Pranayama can supercharge your whole body!
The goal of pranayama is to connect your body and mind. It also supplies your body with oxygen while removing toxins. This is meant to provide healing physiological benefits.
You'll discover several of these breathing techniques during the weekend.
From the Sanskrit AYUR - meaning ‘life’ and VEDA – meaning ‘knowledge’ AYURVEDA quite literally means the knowledge of life and to have an understanding of Ayurveda is to have a blueprint for good mental and physical health.
Ayurveda is the sister science of Yoga, it is the world’s oldest holistic health system originating from the Indian sub–continent. It has been used for thousands of years to cleanse and restore balance to the body and mind. In the Vedic tradition, Ayurveda is taking care of the health of the body while yoga takes care of the mind health. Despite it being more than 5,000 years old it couldn’t be more relevant to our modern, busy and stressful lives.
At the same time philosophy, spirituality, medicine, art of living, Ayurveda and Yoga offer us a natural path to health, beauty and well-being. These two disciplines answer the question we all ask ourselves: How can I live in harmony with my body and my life AND in the environment surrounding me?
As a science of self-healing, Ayurveda encompasses diet & nutrition, lifestyle, exercise, rest & relaxation, meditation, breathing exercises, and medicinal herbs for healing body, mind & spirit. Read more about Ayurveda here.

Who am I ?
My name is Elise Rousse, I’m from Belgium, but I’ve lived in many places across the world. I am a Yoga Teacher, a Well-Being Coach, an Ayurvedic Consultant for lifestyle and nutrition, and Ayurvedic Masseur.
For many years I had a really difficult relationship with food, tremendously struggled with body image and self-esteem, and I couldn’t really live at peace with myself and others. My journey to health and well-being started with the plant-based diet which helped me find a sustainable and healthy way of eating. After healing my body, I found Yoga to heal my mind and soul. Ayurveda came to me a little later as the latest piece of my healing process. Ayurveda is a science of self-healing, the sister science of yoga, it is the ancient Indian art of living a more healthy, wholesome life, through our diets, our routines, and lifestyle practices.
My mission in life, my dharma, is to help you meet your Best Self, to live a more authentic & purer version of yourself and to find balance in your body and mind. Through my well-being coaching sessions, Yoga classes or Ayurvedic Consultations, I empower you to improve your well-being through small, sustainable, healthy diet & lifestyle changes.
